London special - take 2!

Just a quick recap of this week before I get into the 'London' part.

On Monday, I had a meeting down near Brighton. I got a lift to the train station for 1pm to go straight to London. I changed at Paddington and finished my journey from Victoria down south. I had to get the tube from Paddington to Victoria, which is always an 'experience', let's say. I tried to blend in with the crowd, by floating, rather than walking, but it was futile. The meeting went really well and we discussed a few ways to make next years event epic! Stephen gave me a lift home, but only got in at 8.30pm, straight to bed and up for work in the morning!

If Anthony says so, then it must be Gluten free!

On Thursday, I had another meeting with one of our big events. That meeting was a little awkward as we told them that we wanted to change our level of sponsorship. They talked over our options and we have to make a final decision in 2 weeks!
Friday, was mainly getting my equipment together for the event in London.

Saturday morning, I woke up at 5.30am. My iPhone alarm app was no use, as it only rings when you're most awake and I was in the middle of a really good REM cycle, so woke up with a jolt. I got my stuff together and gave my room mate a lift to the bus, as she was flying to Paris for her birthday. I then headed on to London. If any of you have driven in central London, you will know how terrifying it it. The amount of one way streets, 'Ahead only' lanes, road works, detours and forced exits. The only good thing, was that it was 7.45am on a Saturday, so the traffic was kind to me.

London, baby!

I met up with Deborah, we unloaded all the equipment from the car and set it up in our stand area. During the main sessions, no one was at the stand, so I nipped out to get us lunch. Thank goodness that Starbucks is on every street corner in London. I got a gluten free sandwich and chai tea latte, as well as food for Deborah. After lunch, we got talking to the other exhibitors and found out that we were able to talk on stage about our campaign. During the break, after Deborah talked on stage, we had a rush of people to the stand. Then they all went back up for the final session, leaving the room like a ghost town.

They came, they saw, they left!

After a lot of engaging conversations, it was time to pack up and leave. Deborah helped carry the equipment back to the car and then we parted ways. I then set the Sat nav for 'South London' and just drove. Whenever I'm driving with a Sat nav through a city, I find that sometimes I zone out. I'm so focused on listening to the directions, driving correctly and glancing at the map, that I loose all ability to register on anything else. After driving for 30 minutes, I arrived at my "Destination".

We popped down the local Indian to pick up something tasty, got some drinks from the newsagent and headed back to chill in front of the tv. After talking until the wee hours of the morning, we put sheets on the fold out sofa and called it a night. The next morning, I was woken up by the neighbour wanting to talk about some charge from the government. I took this opportunity to have breakfast, shower, pack up my stuff and make sure that my fridge magnets were still in position, they were!

Fridge fun
4 months on and they have remained, I'm so proud!

Then it was time for a quick goodbye and drive back home to do some shopping and get ready for work (and update my blog of course)
