Amy and Andrew's wedding and Keswick

Things I learnt this week:
* Most men will eat off someone else’s plate
* Even if you reserve a seat on a train, doesn’t mean you're seat will be free when you get there
* Facebook is the handiest way of keeping in contact with people from all over the world
* Facebook is the most frustrating way of keeping in contact with people you see on a regular basis
* 6 hours of driving in one day should never be done, especially if your sat nav takes you back roads so you can't stop
* Never fix your sat nav when oncoming traffic is overtaking a cyclist!
* England is a lot easier to get around then they make it seem

Amy’s wedding, Friday 9th - 11th July 2010:
I left work early to get the 4.26pm bus to Oxford, got the hour train to Birmingham, made my way over to terminal 2 and then I was off home. I flew into Dublin, so I could spend a night with my parents and pack up some more stuff from my room. On Friday morning, I went to Dun Laoghaire to have brekkie with my Dad and do a few bits around town. I drove back to the house by myself, but because I was used to driving the massive Toyota Verso, my little 1lt Fiat Panda was really light. I kept revving it too high and turning the wheel too far, before I turned into my drive.

I finished packing before Naomi picked me up for lunch. We dined out at Eddie rockets and then we were off to Cork. After driving to Edinburgh, the short 2.5 hour trip to Cork flew by, also because we were catching up on how the last month has gone. After checking into the hotel we got changed and met Paddy and Stan to go out for dinner and a quick trip to the cinema. We made it back to the hotel by midnight and had to sleep straight away before getting ready the next morning.

We had breakfast at 10am and headed back up to the room to start getting ready. As it had started to rain, Paddy brought the car around the front and dropped us at the door of the church, so we wouldn’t get wet. We got there quite early, so got great seats and plenty of pictures when Amy finally arrived. The service was beautiful and before we knew it, Amy and Andrew were Husband and wife!

The food at the reception was amazing, everything was gluten free, there was more then enough and everyone had so much fun. The speeches were beautiful and it was obvious that both families were thrilled this day had finally come. Everyone got up and danced and took plenty of pictures of the happy couple in their formal attire. The night went too quickly and then it was time to head back up to bed.

The next morning, after breakfast, I packed up my suitcase and got a lift from Naomi to Cork airport to fly back to Birmingham. I was so happy to walk into my house and collapse on my bed. However, as it was the World cup final, I text Becki and we headed out to see who won the football.

Keswick trip Thursday 16th – 17th July:
This week has been filled with last minute preparations for all the up coming events, a comedy night with Craig Davis, a trip to Oxford but also a long drive to Keswick, to drop off all the equipment for an event. I stayed in a B&B just outside of Preston on the way up and drove the rest of the way on Friday morning. On the way back, the Sat nav expected delays and calculated an alternative route which took me all over the English countryside and avoided the motorways. Apart from nearly killing someone on the road, driving in the lashing rain and driving 5 hours straight, it wasn’t a bad trip! With little or not sleep, I'm ready for an early night!
