Day 1, 2 and 3

... which should really be called "My First week!" but I still have one more day left.

Day 1: I got a lift to work at 8.10am by three other employees. My roommate Liz, had arranged for them to pick me up because she had been away at a conference that weekend and needed the morning to sleep. I got in early, found my desk, left my bag and headed down to the conference room for the morning devotional. We went around the room and everyone said their name and job title (for my benefit) then talked about what they were doing that week. It was a great chance to see everyone that I would be working with as well as what the focus was on this week. My Boss had planned a week's worth of inductions for me, with all the different departments. I get a brief history of the company for their department, what they do in general, what they are working on now and how that links in with my job.

Day 2: Inductions continued as well as a trip with Kim, the current events assistant, to drop off a rental van and organise the stock room. Every day there seems to be more and more cakes and deserts floating around the office. These are left over from events, gifts to the staff or brought in to share. I got a box of Cadbury Heros, which has been offered to everyone who comes over to chat to me.

Day 3: I had more inductions as well as trip to the storage untit to drop off some suppplies. We finished putting away event stock left over from the weekend event and I had to wash cake stands and jugs (hey, no one said it wasn't going to get messy). Today at lunch time, the sun was beaming so much that the girls sat out to eat our lunch. Apparently, tomorrow, the guys have bought a disposable BBQ to have during their lunch hour. The staff have been so friendly and welcoming, I really wouldn't have survived this first week without them.

I'm starting to get used to the 7am starts because I'm going to bed earlier and earlier. I've arranged with the landlady to sign a 6 month contract for the room I'm in now and will hopefully send her the cheque this coming Monday. I've stocked up my press with enough food to get me by but finding it hard carrying them all back. My shoulder is killing me from the 5 bags from Lidl. I'll create a flickr or something, so I can add pics to this blog, feels a bit bare.

For now, here's a pic of beautiful town:

Thats a gorgeous pic. They sound SO nice, seriously. Delighted you're signing for the bed there, and not only cuz you'll have a place for me to crash! <3
